Our Story

Not the polished version. Just the one we keep coming back to.

how it started

We first met in church. Morenike’s brother, who is part of our church family, had invited her to one of our conferences. For a while, we were simply brother and sister, exchanging greetings at conferences and meetings.

when it clicked

In early 2023, God gave Afolarin the release to enter into a marital relationship. At that time, one person embodied everything the Lord had placed in his heart for a life partner: Morenike. On Monday, 24th April, at exactly 8:16 AM, he asked her point-blank if she was willing to enter into a serious, committed, marital relationship. Guided by convictions she already held, she said yes.

and here we are

In April this year, we introduced our families to each other. Now, as he loves to say, Afolarin is getting ready to marry “the one who was given to him of the Lord: Feodora.” We are grateful to God, and so excited to celebrate this journey with everyone we love.

Saturday's events are at two venues in Ibadan, about 10 to 15 minutes apart. The thanksgiving service on Sunday is in Ota, Ogun State.

Where are the engagement and the church wedding holding? +
They are at two different venues in Ibadan, about 10 to 15 minutes apart. The Traditional Engagement (7:00 AM) is at No 17, Saka Agbaje Street, Off Aare Avenue, Bodija. The Church Wedding (11:00 AM) is at RCCG, Oyo Province 2 HQ, His Royal Majesty Parish, 37 Awolowo Avenue, Opposite Housing Corporation, Old Bodija. Look out for Ace Mall, as the church is right beside it. Google Maps links for both are in the Location section above.
Where is the Thanksgiving service, and when? +
The Church Thanksgiving holds the next day, Sunday, 1st November, at 9:00 AM. It takes place at Engraced City Church, Ota Recreation Centre, Toll Gate, Ota, Ogun State. This is a different location from Saturday's venues in Ibadan.
What are the colours of the day? +
Our colours are Navy Blue and Peach. We would love for you to incorporate these into your outfits!
What time should I arrive? +
We recommend arriving about 20 to 30 minutes before the 7:00 AM Traditional Engagement starts, just so everyone has time to settle in without rushing. For the 11:00 AM Church Wedding, please be seated by 10:45 AM.
